I'm a water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) engineer currently working as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at both The University of Western Australia and Murdoch University. In 2011/2012 I spent 9 months working as a WASH engineer for the Nepali NGO NEWAH, as part of an Engineers Without Borders Australia (EWB) volunteer placement.

Back in Australia I work in the fields of water resources management, WASH and international development. I enjoy working at the nexus of technology and society, particularly investigating how appropriate technologies, management techniques and public policy can be applied to improve health outcomes by increasing access to adequate water resources and sanitation.

I started my (infamous) blog 'The Princess and the Poo' whilst in Nepal, and have decided that reviving it would be a great way to share the work I've been doing, and the amazing work of my colleagues, with interested readers throughout the blogosphere. I'd love any feedback you might have, or suggestions for posts or website shares- just drop me a line.

And as for the title... well, I loved fairytales as a kid... and perhaps a little bit now as well.
